Sustainable Agriculture

We are going to build a cloud-based remote hydroponic farm environment system that will capture the raw data from the farm, remote plus autonomous control of the farm activities, automated crop growth estimation & analysis. We are already working on this project based on a microcontroller and moving towards the FPGA based implementation due to its several benefits.

Project Proposal

1. High-level project introduction and performance expectation

Hydroponic System is one of the most advanced Agritech technology. We are going to build a system that will be helpful to control the system remotely through IoT technology. Azure is one of the most secure cloud platform services provided by Microsoft.

2. Block Diagram

3. Expected sustainability results, projected resource savings

We will be using DE10-Nano Cyclone V SoC FPGA Board connected with 8 Mega Pixel Digital Camera Package with GPIO interface, EVAL-CN0397-ARDZ: 3-Channel Light Detection for Smart Agriculture and EVAL-CN0398-ARDZ: Soil Moisture, pH, and Temperature Measurement modules to collect the Hydroponic farm-specific different data and control the farm system either from a remote location or automatically. 8 Mega Pixel Digital Camera Package with GPIO interface will collect the growth crop data which will estimate crop yield. EVAL-CN0397-ARDZ: 3-Channel Light Detection for Smart Agriculture will manipulate light requirements for crop growth. EVAL-CN0398-ARDZ: Soil Moisture, pH, and Temperature Measurement will collect the hydroponic Aquas solution necessary solution's different parameters. The whole designed IoT Platform will be connected to the Microsoft Azure IoT Cloud Platform through Wi-Fi, using the ESP-WROOM-02 module.
