pest detection using fpga

project is to design a system to detect the pests automatically
using the technique of Image processing. Crop damage from pathogens and pests is a worldwide problem these days. In fact, agricultural crop productivity has been severely affected by various pests. So, in order to reduce this effect, we are doing this project to help farmers by providing a tool which
detects the pests at the very early stage, so that we can take possible measures to ensure the best quality yield of the crop.

Project Proposal

1. High-level project introduction and performance expectation

As we are going for organic food due to the corona and people are more interested in organically cultivating the crops without the pesticides, the main problem in agriculture is the pesticides we are trying to control the use of pesticides and increase the productivity of the crop. This project aims to design a system to detect pests automatically using the technique of Image processing. Crop damage from pathogens and pests is a global problem these days. Agricultural crop productivity has been severely affected by various pests. So, to reduce this effect, we are doing this project. Our motto is to help farmers by providing a tool that detects the pests at the very early stage to take possible measures to ensure the best quality yield of the crop.

3. Expected sustainability results, projected resource savings

The sustainability results are needed to help the farmers by removing the pests the parameters used here was

CLICKING THE PICTURES OF PEST :

we collect the image of the pest using the high-resolution camera

IMAGE PROCESSING:

  1. Image enhancement to prepare images for display or analysis.
  2. Image segmentation to isolate regions and objects of interest.
  3. process the image through image processing

IMAGE THRESHOLDING:

then we go for the image thresholding here we are converting the greyscale

EDGE DETECTION:

we are going for the edge detection method of canny and log they are helpful for the identification of the pest.

IMPLEMENTING ON FPGA:

FPGAs are often used as implementation platforms for real-time image processing applications because their structure is able to exploit spatial and temporal parallelism. The approach used is a windowing operator technique to traverse the pixels of an image, and apply the filters to them.

PEST DETECTION:

Thus the pest detection was controlled.
